Cell this week was special, as you can see..........

Fri, lesson starts at 9am but I reached the classroom at 930am
Die lah, I thought as I walked out from city hall mrt, so late liao

Today having Principles of Banking Finance (PBF)

And there is the gym membership to settle, this membership is at California Fitness. My school is in partnership with California Fitness so the membership rate is cheaper

Man, obviously I am so damn skinny lor

I also want to take my IPPT and get a gold leh
Need to start training right now

1 year membership costs S$350 (inclusive of GST)
If I sign up den my mum will pay lor

My life is pretty much boring, I dun possess any superpower whatsoever
I dun have superhuman strength or X-ray vision
I cannot fly, cannot control the weather, cannot become invisible
Not to mention turning myself into a green incredible hulk

Woke up late at 12pm.
Planned to go Zion Full Gospel Church 1030am service.

When I opened my eyes i saw my brother, usually he will go for New Creation Church 1st service but today he going 3rd service.

In the end I decided to go for the NCC 4th service.
While walking towards Rock I saw my brother with his gf (picture above)

And so I arrived at the 6th floor overflow room.

This is my first time coming to NCC Sunday service

The sermon is about noah and the ark he built
I heard others preach about noah and this time it was different.
I am greatly blessed by the word of GOD.



A new House of the LORD

NCC is raising S$280 million for a new church building.
Currently NCC has S$100 million as of 2007.
NCC has a surplus of S$20 million per year.
Given the church population there is no problem at all to raise the remaining sum in 3 years.

1 thing for sure I want to be part of the church building

¹ I rejoiced with those who said to me,
"Let us go to the house of the LORD."




If God can do this much for NCC, HE can do the same for other churches
However not all churches are the same.

Chicken rice analogy

Everywhere in Singapore u can buy chicken rice
Hawker centres, coffeeshops and even in hotel
However all the chicken rice tastes different
The effort put into cooking and the different methods in cooking affects the taste of the chicken as well as the rice

Zion Full Gospel church is like selling tasteless chicken rice
The youth ministry has not been growing much.
I am sure God wants to grow his church but the church also must put GOD first before anything else

Mega Church

The 3 mega churches in Singapore

1. New Creation Church (NCC)

2. City Harvest Church (CHC)

3. Faith Community Baptist Church (FCBC)

I haven been to FCBC so I really cannot comment about this church.



A Look inside the Mega Church

Both NCC and CHC started out as a gathering of a small number of christians. Less than 30 people to give you an idea.

As the christians gathered together to worship God, their numbers grew.

NCC now have a congregation of over 15,000 members in 2007.

CHC currently has 24,000 people attending its weekend services.

FCBC has about 10,000 church attenders.

I really enjoy going to both CHC and NCC but I am not a member in neither CHC nor NCC
So the question immediately comes into mind, WHY?

Well I am not yet ready to join as a member and I rather be a visitor.



The beginning

I accepted Christ in the year 2002 at the age of 16 and I attended Zion Full Gospel Church. I have been there until today even though I stopped going for extended period a few times. There are some problems in the church and obviously many people know about it including the pastor. These problems will continue to stay for a long long time so I really get pissed off with it.




NCC Senior pastor Joseph Prince

So far I only heard him preach once. It was a wed, 12 Sept 2007. I had finished my lesson and thought of watching a movie at Suntec City. As I walked to the cinema I saw my elder brother and his girlfriend. They mentioned to me that there will be a bible study later. Anyway, I made my way to the cinema to check out what movies were screening. Long story short, I attended the bible study at 730pm. The main auditorium was full and so I was at the 6th floor overflow room. The message that day was about the year of jubilee. He is indeed an anointed speaker. Towards the end of the bible study, Pastor Prince led everyone in receiving the blessings of Jesus, in the background was the sound from a horn being blown. It was a life transforming experience for me.

I like to go different churches
Going different churches allows me to meet new people, experience the difference atmosphere during the service and hear different style of preaching
Every church is different some are quite dead while some are overflowing with God's presence

Same GOD but each church is not the same at all
Going to church on Sunday is not a routine but some church makes you feel like it is a routine and that's not good

We are worshiping Jesus who is alive so therefore the praise and worship must also be alive as well but some church has a half dead worship session

John Chapter 4
²³Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
²⁴God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

Sunday Sept 9 2007

Woke up at 9:25am on sunday
Considered to be late since church service at Zion Full Gospel Church starts at 10:30am

I intended to go Zion but I agreed to go to another church with Kun Song
Last night kun song sms me about accompanying him to a church he been invited to as he dun want to go alone. He never mentioned the timing though

This church is Centre of New Life Church
The church has its service inside the ballrooms of Orchard hotel.
Orchard hotel is located at the far end of Orchard road.
Upon entering the ballroom I was greeted by the sight of many people wearing black shirt (their church polo shirt)
The worship was in progress and it was followed by a sermon

The speaker is Pastor Lawrence Ong, Senior Pastor of Centre of New Life Church

He was speaking about topic of church growth quoting bible verses and I learnt much. Most of the verses was from the book of Acts
He is quite a decent speaker compared to Pastor Alfred Yeo of Zion Full Gospel Church

After the service there was tea and coffee available and to my surprise I saw bananas and rambutans

Centre of New Life Church is currently building a church at Jurong West street 74
This plot of land actually belongs to City Harvest Church
